The lightweight overhead crane combines lightness, precision and safety, making it the ideal solution for moving and handling small and medium loads of up to 2,000 kg in workshops, laboratories and production lines. Its modular structure allows the length and height of the beam to be adapted according to the requirements of the workspace and modified later if necessary.

Lightweight overhead crane models

There are 3 types of lightweight crane systems, which can be combined with each other to configure the optimal solution for each application, depending on load capacity, weight, dimensions and available budget.

Lightweight steel profile overhead crane

The most economical version, although less lightweight than the other alternatives. Designed for less intensive working applications.

The lightweight overhead crane system allows the creation of fully modular suspended material handling solutions for the handling of loads up to 2,000 kg. Thanks to its flexible design, it can be configured as a monorail system, single-girder overhead crane or double-girder overhead crane, adapting to the requirements of each workstation, production line or logistics area.

Its modular construction simplifies both the initial installation and future extensions or modifications, allowing the system to adapt to changes in production without the need to replace the entire installation.

The range is available in two different technologies:

ProfileMaster Plus aluminium version – Maximum lightness and ergonomics

Manufactured with extruded aluminium structural profiles, this system stands out due to its low dead weight and its extremely low rolling resistance. This allows operators to move loads with minimal effort, even in applications involving continuous movements or frequent changes of direction.

It is the recommended solution for workstations where ergonomics, movement precision and ease of operation are priorities.

ProfileMaster Plus steel version – Longer spans and more compact design.

The lightweight steel version is especially suitable when longer spans, extended travel distances or a particularly compact configuration are required. Its greater structural rigidity makes it possible to optimise the available height and develop installations adapted to large working areas.

In addition, the system can be configured with different structural profiles depending on the load capacity, span and characteristics of the installation.

Can aluminium and steel profiles be combined in the same installation?
Yes. Lightweight crane systems allow aluminium and steel components to be combined within the same installation. This solution helps optimise ergonomics, structural rigidity and installation costs according to the requirements of each working area.
What advantages does an aluminium lightweight overhead crane offer compared to a steel version?
Aluminium profiles have a very low dead weight and extremely low rolling resistance, up to 5 times lower than steel, allowing loads to be moved with minimum effort. They are especially recommended for workstations with frequent movements and continuous changes of direction.
When is it recommended to choose the lightweight steel version?
Lightweight steel profiles are the recommended option when longer spans, extended travel distances or particularly compact configurations are required. Their greater structural rigidity makes it possible to cover larger working areas with fewer geometric limitations.
Can ProfileMaster crane systems be motorised?
Yes, ProfileMaster lightweight crane systems can be motorised for trolley travel and crane movement if the application requires it. In most cases, they are used without motorisation for applications requiring precise, repetitive manual movements with minimum effort. However, in certain cases, motorisation can improve performance. Any ProfileMaster system can be motorised later or have its configuration modified.
Can the system be expanded if production requirements change?
Yes. Both aluminium and steel systems are designed with a modular concept. It is possible to extend travel distances, add new overhead cranes or modify the original configuration without replacing the entire installation.
What configurations are possible with a lightweight overhead crane?
Depending on the application, the system can be configured as a monorail, single-girder overhead crane or double-girder overhead crane. The choice depends on load capacity, required travel distance and the layout of the working area.
Is it possible to integrate the power supply inside the profile itself?
Yes. Certain aluminium profile configurations allow power supply systems to be integrated directly into the runway, simplifying installation and improving the protection of electrical components. This avoids hanging cables that could create a risk of interference with forklifts or personnel.
Is it possible to use several overhead cranes on the same runway?
Yes. Depending on the configuration, the ProfileMaster ST system allows up to 6 overhead cranes to be installed on the same runway, optimising coverage of large working areas and allowing different production stations to use the system independently.
Do lightweight overhead cranes comply with European regulations?
Yes. Lightweight overhead crane systems are designed in accordance with the applicable technical regulations and comply with the CE Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, as well as EN 14492-2 Cranes, power-driven winches and hoists – Part 2: Power-driven hoists, and EN ISO 12100 Safety of machinery. The design also takes into account DIN 15018:1984-11 for crane supporting structures and DIN 4132:1981-02 for crane runways.
