Safety lights for overhead cranes are critical components for preventing accidents and improving safety in industrial work areas. The Light Control System (SCL) is an advanced technology that integrates these types of lighting to maximise visibility and warn workers about crane operations.
In industrial environments, it is common for forklifts, heavy equipment, personnel carriers and overhead cranes to be operating simultaneously. Operators often perform multiple tasks under pressure to meet their targets. In addition, other workers carry out their duties near these machines, increasing safety risks.
The use of beacons and audible signals in accordance with applicable standards has proven to be less effective in many of these environments, which has led VINCA to develop the SCL system using safety lights.
The SCL System improves safety in areas with overhead cranes by projecting visual signals that clearly define the operating area of the hook. This alerts workers to load movements, reducing the risk of accidents.
Features of Safety Lights for Overhead Cranes
VINCA safety lights for overhead cranes are high-brightness LED lights projected onto the floor to outline the crane’s operating area, clearly indicating where the load is moving and warning workers to keep a safe distance.
Using two high-power LED spotlights located on the hoist and specially designed for industrial environments, two straight red beams of light are projected onto the area near the hook. They move with the hook and allow the operator and workers in the area to see more clearly the area of greatest risk during overhead crane lifting operations.
In addition, the system offers optional configurations, such as square-shaped projection to define specific work areas or a point projection to indicate specific areas. These options are available in red or blue, adapting to the specific requirements of each environment.
Benefits of the SCL System
The advantages of the SCL System are clear: it improves overall safety by reducing the risk of collisions and workplace accidents, increases efficiency by allowing workers to operate with greater confidence and clarity, and reduces reliance on manual or audible signals, which can be less effective in noisy industrial environments.
Light Beam Dimensions According to Height and Type

NOTE: values with 100% vertical projection. Dimensions may vary depending on the projection angle.
The length of the projected beam may be reduced by up to 20%, depending on the amount of ambient light. Projection visibility depends on the amount of light present in the environment and the colour of the floor.
